Position Summary:
The Hotel Operations Supervisor is tasked with orchestrating and directing operational activities to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise the Housekeeping Division and Breakfast Services while supporting Front Desk Operations in collaboration with the Assistant General Manager.
2. Maintain a strong presence in the lobby to assist front desk personnel and guests.
3. Manage the inventory of hotel room types effectively.
4. Ensure that all lobby and public areas meet the established cleanliness and operational standards.
5. Address special guest requests and resolve customer complaints during shifts.
6. Execute all front desk duties and responsibilities as required.
7. Investigate and manage complaints, disturbances, and emergencies as they arise.
8. Oversee Employee Payroll, monitor attendance, and manage time edits as necessary.
9. Mentor, train, and provide guidance to hourly associates while administering disciplinary actions when needed.
10. Perform Night Audit functions, ensuring accuracy in all related tasks and generating necessary reports.
11. Prepare, duplicate, and disseminate reports as required.
12. Attend and contribute to regular meetings to foster positive relationships among staff and promote high morale and productivity.
13. Participate in Manager on Duty coverage as required.
14. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly preferred.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the hospitality industry; or a 2-year college degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience; or a 4-year degree with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
2. Previous supervisory experience is essential.
3. Proficiency in Windows and company-approved software applications is required.
4. Ability to work extended hours as needed.
5. The role may involve sedentary work, requiring the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with all levels of staff and guests in a courteous and service-oriented manner.
7. Must be adept at listening to, understanding, and addressing concerns raised by employees and guests.
8. Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental responsibilities to meet deadlines.
9. Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
10. Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company standards, which may vary based on operational needs.
11. Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing identification badges.
12. Adhere to company standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
13. Strive for productivity, identify areas for improvement, and assist in implementing solutions.
14. Effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, and resolving issues as necessary.
15. Ability to comprehend and evaluate complex information and data from various sources to achieve objectives.
16. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
17. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant General Manager, General Manager, or corporate staff.
18. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly preferred.
