Position Overview: The State of Washington is seeking a Fiscal Analyst 2 to join the Facilities & Analytics Administration within the Office of Financial Recovery (OFR). This office is responsible for providing essential billing, accounting, and debt collection services across various departments.

Role Responsibilities: As a member of the Vendor Accounting Unit, your primary duties will include:

  • Analyzing and interpreting financial records to ensure accuracy in recovery activities.
  • Managing billing processes, payment postings, and refunds across multiple lines of business.
  • Addressing a high volume of inquiries related to complex billing and payment issues.
  • Assisting with online payment systems and troubleshooting individual ACH debit accounts.
  • Generating reports for the analysis of suspense balance payments.
  • Processing refunds in accordance with established company parameters.
  • Responding to communications from program partners and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A detail-oriented mindset with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.

Educational Requirements: Candidates should have:

  • A minimum of 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting.
  • A Bachelor's degree in any field, or five years of professional experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or financial data analysis.
  • A Master's degree in a financially related field or relevant certifications may substitute for professional experience.
