Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our team at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, an affiliate of Mass General Brigham. As a Paramedic, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care duties and assessment under the guidance and delegation of a registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to requests for patient care assistance as delegated by the registered nurse
  • Maintain skill level to perform patient care tasks and interventions within scope of practice after competency validation
  • Administer medications and intravenous fluids and monitor outcomes as delegated by registered nurse following provider order and hospital policy after competency validation
  • Document care provided and patient's progress toward attainment of desired outcomes in electronic medical record
  • Complete the intake assessment specific to the department they are assigned to and documents it in the EHR
  • Initiate treatment and testing based on department protocols
  • Recognize high risk patients and situations and communicate with charge RN to coordinate patient placement
  • Perform additional job specific requirements and other duties as assigned after competency validation
