Job Title: Senior Aquatic Program Leader

City of Lancaster is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Aquatic Program Leader to oversee pool facilities and instruct and evaluate staff on rules, regulations, and safety practices.

Job Summary:

The Senior Aquatic Program Leader will be responsible for overseeing City-wide pool facilities, including all staff, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate a major summer aquatics program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee pool facilities and staff to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
  • Instruct and evaluate staff on rules, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate a major summer aquatics program.
  • Respond to and document safety accidents.
  • Administer first aid when necessary.
  • Maintain and prepare payroll records for summer aquatics staff.
  • Enforce health and safety regulations at pool facilities.
  • Select, supervise, and evaluate staff.
  • Perform pool maintenance procedures.
  • Aid in training lower-level aquatic personnel.
Requirements:
  • Red Cross Certifications required: Lifeguard training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Water Safety Instructor, and Train the Trainer.
  • One year of supervisory experience plus 2 years of experience developing, organizing, and conducting aquatics programs.
