Atrium Health Pineville has been dedicated to providing exceptional care since its establishment in 1987. Serving the South Charlotte area, including Ballantyne, Fort Mill, and Rock Hill, we have significantly expanded our facilities and services to cater to the evolving needs of our community. From our humble beginnings as a small hospital, we have transformed into a comprehensive healthcare center offering advanced medical services.

Our facility features 12 operating rooms where we conduct a variety of surgical procedures, including general surgery, orthopedics, OBGYN, urology, vascular, neuro/spine, robotics, cardiothoracic, ENT, and plastic surgeries. The Pineville Operating Room fosters a collaborative environment that emphasizes teamwork and a positive workplace culture.

Position Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse I is responsible for delivering professional nursing care through comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation, adhering to departmental policies and protocols under the guidance of nursing leadership. This role includes ensuring a safe working environment and executing all job responsibilities safely while maintaining clinical and professional competency relevant to the patient population served.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather relevant data concerning the health of the patient or the situation at hand. Analyze this data to identify actual or potential diagnoses and issues.
  • Establish expected outcomes for a personalized care plan tailored to the patient or situation.
  • Formulate a plan that outlines strategies to achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Execute the identified care plan, coordinating care delivery and employing strategies to promote health and safety.
  • Delegate care responsibilities to appropriate healthcare personnel in accordance with legal and policy guidelines.
  • Assess progress towards achieving goals and outcomes.
  • Practice in a manner that respects cultural diversity and inclusion.
  • Communicate effectively across all areas of nursing practice.
  • Collaborate with patients and key stakeholders in nursing practice.
  • Exhibit leadership within the professional practice environment.
  • Incorporate evidence and research findings into nursing practice.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of nursing practice quality.

Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to walk, stand, sit, lift, reach, stoop, bend, push, and pull. Candidates must be capable of lifting and supporting weights of up to 35 pounds when handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Proficiency in English is required, along with intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Candidates should possess finger dexterity, critical thinking skills, and the ability to concentrate effectively. Quick responsiveness to changes in patient and unit conditions is essential. Physical abilities testing is mandatory.

Education, Experience, and Certifications
Applicants must be graduates of an accredited School of Nursing, with a BSN preferred. Current Basic Life Support certification is required per policy guidelines. A valid RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of practice is mandatory. For those declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as their primary residency, licensure requirements must be met in their home state; for non-NLC states, a current RN license or temporary license is required in the state of employment.
