Job Responsibilities

The RN Clinical Nurse is responsible for delivering holistic nursing care through proficient assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation, in line with facility or departmental policies and protocols under the guidance of nursing leadership. The RN Clinical Nurse plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure work environment and executing all job-related tasks safely. The practice of registered nursing is directed by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

Physical Requirements

This role necessitates walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. The ability to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds when handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies is essential. Proficiency in English communication is required. Candidates must possess intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, along with finger dexterity, critical thinking skills, and the ability to concentrate. Quick responsiveness to changes in patient and/or unit conditions is necessary. Physical Abilities Testing may be required. Additional department-specific physical requirements may be established by the nursing leader.

Education, Training, and Experience

A graduate from an accredited School of Nursing is required; a BSN is preferred. Eligibility for advancement is based on the Nurse Career Professional Program. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification as per American Heart Association standards is necessary. A current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of practice is required. If claiming residency in a National License Compact (NLC) state, licensure requirements must be met in the home state; for non-NLC states, a current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner is required in the state of practice. Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be mandated within the department by the nursing leader.
