About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Senior Analyst to join our Institutional Retirement Solutions (IRS) finance team at Securian Financial Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement financial reporting processes, including the preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, including journal entries and accounting samples.
  • Perform analysis to understand key trends and variances driving financial results.
  • Develop and document procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the preparation and communication of financial information for auditors, rating agencies, and company leaders.
  • Participate in projects related to financial reporting or financial contracts.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead implementation efforts.
Requirements
  • Accounting experience with exposure to statutory, management-based, tax, and GAAP for financial reporting and budgeting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Math.
  • Demonstrated initiative to serve as a resource for team members and independently manage projects.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to provide superior customer service to a variety of business partners.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to review and analyze financial statements and reports.
  • Understanding of the structure of data within financial and administration systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and meet prescribed deadlines on a continuous basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of insurance accounting concepts and products.
  • Reinsurance accounting experience.
