Position Summary

The Security Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily security functions of the facility, managing security supervisory personnel and detention officers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise and mentor security supervisory staff.
  • Ensure that security operations comply with established policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the facility training program in alignment with federal, state, local, and corporate guidelines.
  • Conduct and document required security inspections of the facility.
  • Manage the scheduling of inmate transports, including court appearances and medical appointments.
  • Oversee the inmate disciplinary process to ensure adherence to policies and standards.
  • Monitor daily activities to ensure compliance with the established building schedule.
  • Perform routine inspections of all facility areas.
  • Review daily staffing to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Investigate allegations of staff misconduct and prepare reports for management review.
  • Review security reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Act in the capacity of Facility Director in their absence.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a community-based or secure correctional environment, or a high school diploma with seven (7) years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with community corrections systems and current practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operational manuals, and standard procedures.
  • Strong writing skills for report preparation and correspondence.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using computers and relevant software.
