Job Overview

This dynamic position encompasses a variety of responsibilities associated with patient onboarding, care management, and health record administration. Key tasks include welcoming and registering patients, confirming their details, overseeing electronic health records (EHR), and safeguarding the integrity and confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Proficiency in basic computer operations and data entry.
  3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  4. Prior experience in a clinical setting is advantageous.
  5. Capability to handle diverse tasks with minimal supervision and sound judgment.
  6. Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  7. Competence in interacting with individuals from various cultural backgrounds.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Welcome and guide patients upon their arrival, ensuring a friendly atmosphere.
  2. Conduct prompt and precise patient registration, including sign-in/check-in processes.
  3. Assist patients in completing necessary documentation, such as medical history and consent forms.
  4. Collect and validate patient information, including contact details, insurance coverage, and medical background.
  5. Perform insurance verification and input data into the EHR system.
  6. Oversee the scanning, distribution, and archiving of medical documents within the EHR system.
  7. Process requests for medical records and ensure the secure handling of patient health information in accordance with organizational policies.
  8. Manage incoming calls, addressing patient questions or concerns, and directing calls to the appropriate department or staff member.
  9. Handle payment processing for medical services and manage patient accounts to track and collect outstanding payments.
  10. Ensure that all faxes are properly reviewed, sorted, and filed, and retrieve paper charts as needed.
  11. Maintain an accurate cash drawer and manage deliveries appropriately.
  12. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality regarding all patient information.
  13. Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
