JOB SUMMARY: The Patient Services Coordinator (PSC) is the first point of contact for patients and visitors at the clinic, showcasing exceptional interpersonal abilities and a professional attitude.

The PSC is tasked with overseeing front desk operations, which include managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and handling phone inquiries. This role also involves entering data into the EHR message center, verifying insurance eligibility, and updating patient demographics and insurance information in the clinic and hospital accounting systems. Additionally, the PSC is responsible for determining and collecting payments at the time of service or for any outstanding balances.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.

Experience:
A minimum of six months of office experience is required, preferably within a healthcare environment. Proficiency in computer usage is essential.


Special Skills and Competencies:

- Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute (verified by testing)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Capability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact diplomatically and maintain professionalism with physicians, the public, and hospital staff at all times.
- Comfort in discussing personal and financial matters with patients and their families.
