Job Summary

As a Principal Engineer, SSD PDT Lead at Micron Technology, you will be part of the Datacenter SSD Product Development Team responsible for taking SSDs from design to high volume manufacturing. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and strong communication/customer interaction capabilities to predictably deliver high-quality products and a positive customer experience throughout the entire product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead customer core team meetings for assigned customers
* Work with applications and customer management teams to identify and comprehend all datacenter SSD product requirements and specific customer expectations
* Lead cross-functional teams in designing and developing products across the datacenter SSD product portfolio for targeted customers
* Collaborate with validation and qualification teams to confirm test coverage for all product requirements
* Coordinate all customer qualification test activities for assigned customers and lead debug efforts for any failures
* Manage planning (timelines, budgets, etc.) and execution for any customer or product requirement changes during SSD development
* Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
* Lead technical discussions with customers, including product design reviews, responding to customer inquiries, and driving RCA/FA reports for any qualification or field failures

Requirements

* BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
* Direct knowledge of SSD products and system application
* Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in SSD product development and technical leadership
* Comprehensive knowledge of NAND flash memory and SSD architecture
* Strong understanding of PCIe/NVMe interface protocols, as well as the OCP datacenter SSD specification
* Project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer engagement
* Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical challenges and provide innovative solutions
