Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Redwire Space. As a key member of our mechanical engineering team, you will be responsible for the development, qualification, and delivery of high-performance space RF systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical design and development of high-performance space RF systems
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to junior engineers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including CAD models and drawings
  • Interface with customers and stakeholders to ensure technical requirements are met
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in space industry, including development, building, and testing of space flight hardware
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturability and ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards
  • Experience with SolidWorks CAD software and PDM system
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with mechanical design for RF systems and electromechanical systems
  • Knowledge of NASA standards and guidelines
  • Experience with stress/modal/thermal analysis and simulation software
