Position Overview

This position is for a Postdoctoral Researcher at the A. James Clark School of Engineering, supported by the NIH Brain Initiative, with a focus on computational modeling. The role entails the development of statistical, machine learning, and deep learning models, alongside information-theoretic methodologies and other computational tools tailored for neuroimaging data analysis. The successful candidate will spearhead these initiatives while benefiting from mentorship in research methodologies, scientific communication, conference presentations, manuscript preparation, and contributions to grant proposals.

The Principal Investigator of INSPIRE Lab is committed to providing individualized mentorship that aligns with the career aspirations of the postdoctoral researcher, while actively promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the lab environment. Compensation is aligned with NIH postdoctoral standards and includes a comprehensive benefits package. The position is structured as a renewable annual contract, with an expectation of 2-3 years of postdoctoral training.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience with publications in deep learning and statistical modeling.
  • Proficient programming skills in Python and MATLAB; familiarity with Linux operating systems.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Strong quantitative skills with a comfort level in mathematical derivations.
  • Excellent communication and writing abilities.
