Job Overview

The Account Manager plays a pivotal role in driving engagement with key clients, ensuring the retention of existing business while exploring avenues for growth within established accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster Client Relationships: Cultivate and strengthen relationships with active and assigned customers to facilitate growth.
  • Optimize Freight Opportunities: Manage both transactional and contractual freight opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and maximize revenue.
  • Proactive Outreach: Initiate regular communication with existing clients to identify new business opportunities and contribute to portfolio expansion.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Develop and maintain SOPs to guide service performance, ensuring they are updated to reflect industry standards and evolving client needs.
  • Performance Initiatives: Drive initiatives aimed at enhancing account performance, emphasizing the importance of robust client relationships.
  • Collaboration with Sales: Work closely with the sales team to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Business Reviews: Conduct collaborative Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews with clients alongside Sales Executives and Quality Coordinators to assess performance and identify improvement areas.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with various teams to ensure that customer expectations align with service delivery.
  • Forecasting Support: Assist the Head of Strategic Business Development in forecasting for assigned clients, providing insights and data for accurate predictions.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or brokerage environments is preferred.
  • Experience managing tactical/spot accounts with a high volume of outbound calls.
  • Strong phone presence with the ability to address customer objections confidently.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in sales, business development, account management, and relationship building.
  • Attention to operational detail essential for success in the industry.
  • Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about customer service and problem-solving with a focus on client experience.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
