Location: Dover DE and Newark DE Area

Key Responsibilities:

This position is accountable for upholding the mission, vision, and values of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation while engaging with external customers, agencies, vendors, and internal teams. The Sales Account Executive will assist clients with inquiries related to commercial and residential propane sales in a professional and efficient manner, whether via phone or in-person interactions.

The role involves:

  • Monitoring sales activities and conducting outreach to potential commercial clients regularly.
  • Maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Staying informed about changes in documentation requirements and propane pricing.
  • Driving consistent growth in retail propane customer counts, sales volumes, and appliance installations.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Collaborating with the District Manager to set annual commercial propane sales objectives.
  • Developing strategies for acquiring new commercial accounts and enhancing propane and appliance sales.
  • Evaluating progress monthly with the District Manager.
  • Processing incoming sales leads and visiting potential commercial propane clients to initiate sales.
  • Coordinating new tank and appliance installations with service teams and subcontractors.
  • Following up on installations to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Preparing and verifying sales documentation for accuracy.
  • Responding to customer inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintaining updated knowledge of rate changes and ensuring correct billing practices.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with commercial builders, contractors, and real estate firms to generate sales leads.
  • Conducting residential cold calls and promoting ongoing sales initiatives.
  • Participating in civic organizations and representing the company at trade shows.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer interaction skills and effective communication abilities.
