Job Summary

In this critical role, you will work closely with the Chief of Service to oversee a team of certified registered nurse anesthetists. Your expertise will be essential in administering anesthesia and monitoring patient reactions during surgical or medical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Augment department leadership by assisting in hiring, training, and supervision of certified registered nurse anesthetists.
  • Develop and implement department standards, policies, and procedures to ensure quality of care and service.
  • Monitor budgets, resource allocation, and department financial performance to identify areas for cost reduction and quality improvement.
  • Assume a proxy role for day-to-day clinical operations and administrative tasks in the absence of the Chief CRNA.
  • Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations, formulate anesthesia plans, and ensure thorough documentation of patient information.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of departmental protocols.
Requirements
  • Graduated from an accredited school of anesthesia.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) certification required at hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certification required at hire.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in teams, effective communication and listening skills, and understanding of regulatory requirements and legal consequences of anesthesia care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience and a Master's degree are preferred.
