Job Overview

The role of the Project Leader (PL) is crucial for the effective management and successful delivery of our environmental projects. The PL collaborates closely with Superintendents to oversee budgets, timelines, and client interactions. This position involves working alongside Senior Management to set objectives, uphold protocols, and evaluate project outcomes. The PL is accountable for the oversight of designated projects and the planning of future initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the duties associated with assigned field projects.
  • Ensure all field documentation is maintained accurately for daily project tracking.
  • Guarantee that all work tasks are identified, recorded, and billed correctly on a monthly basis.
  • Supervise all field personnel allocated to projects.
  • Assist in the recruitment of new field staff.
  • Manage the logistics of equipment and materials for each field project.
  • Control the budget for each assigned field project.
  • Develop and enhance existing client relationships.
  • Network within the industry to identify potential prospects and opportunities.
  • Engage in events such as trade shows and conferences to promote the company's services.
  • Contribute to company strategy planning, departmental budgeting, and revenue target setting.
  • Deliver presentations to potential clients outlining the company's offerings.
  • Participate in the proposal process for new projects, including the creation and submission of proposal documents.
  • Attend site visits and pre-proposal meetings as necessary to pursue business opportunities.
Qualifications

Education: A four-year degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in field project management.
  • 5+ years in the environmental sector.
  • Strong understanding of the environmental and industrial services sector.
  • Exceptional client management abilities.
  • Existing contacts within the environmental industry are advantageous.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Proficient in PC applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat).
  • Willingness to travel up to 90% of the time.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State project management practices, proposal writing, and contracting.
Additional Skills
  • General understanding of construction methods and best practices.
  • Broad knowledge of equipment operations; operational experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GPS surveying and grade control systems.
  • Proficient in CADD programs.
  • Ability to convey complex technical information clearly to all team members.
  • Adaptability to changes in project scope and the integration of new technologies.
  • Capability to manage multiple team members across various roles.
Compensation and Benefits

DNT offers a competitive salary based on market research and experience level, with a salary range of $95,000 to $110,000. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k plan, and paid vacation.

All field personnel, including the PL position, must successfully pass drug screening, hazardous materials physicals, and a background check.
