Executive Chef for Prepared Foods

Role Overview
The Executive Chef for Prepared Foods is a dynamic leadership position that drives culinary excellence and exceptional hospitality experience on the retail floor. Reporting directly to our Prepared Foods Team Leader, this role works in partnership with Store Leadership and Regional culinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Culinary Excellence & Culture: Champion food quality, promote a passion for food culture, and consistently communicate Whole Foods Market vision and goals.
- Food Production & Quality: Manage production within Prepared Foods, ensuring quality, presentation, and food safety are maintained daily at the highest levels.
- Hospitality & Service: Lead by example in promoting hospitality to all Whole Foods Market guests, serving as a culinary ambassador, and elevating the in-store experience.
Requirements:
- Combined history (minimum 18 months) of professional hospitality/kitchen experience and culinary training.
- Ability to teach and develop others in a constructive and positive manner.
- Organized approach to work, prioritizing efficiently and delegating responsibilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills to build teams and customer relationships.
- True passion for food.
- Food safety certification (or commitment to obtain within 6 months).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong technology skills: Microsoft Office.
Compensation Package:
We offer an estimated annual salary of $65,000-$80,000 based on industry standards, location, and qualifications. This compensation package reflects the value we place on attracting and retaining top talent in the culinary industry.
