Workforce Development Professional

The Doe Fund Inc. is seeking a skilled Workforce Development Specialist to join our team in Brooklyn and Manhattan locations.
This role involves developing meaningful engagement with participants in our Ready, Willing & Able program, covering both the initial 12 months and post-graduation contact.
Key Responsibilities:- Facilitation and Tutoring:
- Lead CSS (Career Success Strategies) classes covering online job application, personal and professional references, budgeting, job interviewing, resume building, cover letter writing, and virtual interview software.
- Mentor assigned caseload of trainees one-on-one in resume preparation, virtual interview practice, addressing employment gaps, and ongoing job search efforts.
- Collaborate with Program Directors, Case Managers, and Career Coaching Professionals to refine understanding of applicants' needs and identify targeted job development efforts.
- Manage up-to-date records on client progress and development needs.
- Aid in facilitating monthly mock interviews with corporate partners.
- Participate in staff and team meetings.
- Conduct service-oriented orientations on overall and specific department services as scheduled.
- Job Placement Assistance/Coaching:
- Participate in job sector teams.
- Aid in employer referral opportunities for clients.
- Maintain relationships with employers.
- Engage clients in career planning and employment satisfaction.
- Advocate for clientele when denied employment.
- Aid in gathering evidence of rehabilitation.
- Track and follow-up on client progress.
- Submit weekly sector-specific job leads via Indeed for referral to job seekers.
- Student/Graduate Follow-up:
- Document student engagement through data entry, case notes, status emails, and case conference meetings.
- Structure and maintain personal availability schedules for heavy walk-in engagement with participants under leadership direction.
- Provide comprehensive graduate case management for engaged participants, including career coaching, professional portfolio development, and employment referrals.
- Update and refer graduates to active resource lists for retention outcomes related to employment, housing, and sobriety.
- Act as point person for re-engagement with displaced graduates or graduate job seekers, connecting them to in-house housing support, temporary work contract opportunities, and career development support.
- Support retention outcomes and collect retention information through weekly outreach to graduates.
