Position Summary:
As a Housekeeping Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in assisting leadership with the operational oversight of the Housekeeping Department. Your responsibilities will include coordinating the activities of front-line staff and acting as a key liaison between hospital administration and various departments to ensure exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and regularly review standards and procedures for all housekeeping personnel.
  • Plan staffing schedules and assign work areas to guarantee comprehensive service coverage.
  • Participate in the recruitment process, including interviewing and training new staff members.
  • Orient, mentor, and supervise all supervisory and housekeeping staff.
  • Conduct routine inspections and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepare monthly reports detailing goals, achievements, and future objectives.
  • Facilitate staff education and training initiatives.
  • Maintain effective communication with staff, administration, and other departments.
  • Coordinate external services such as pest control, window cleaning, and waste management.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A four-year degree, military experience, or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience in housekeeping or a service-related field with significant customer interaction is essential.
  • Demonstrated growth in healthcare housekeeping or facility maintenance is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Capability to maintain organization in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
  • Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership qualities.
  • Thorough understanding of contract management and office procedures.
  • Willingness to work evening shifts and participate in weekend and holiday rotations.
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.

Military Transferrable Skills:
Experience in planning, developing, and directing logistics, with a background in supervising teams. Proficient in troubleshooting and identifying equipment issues, as well as teaching technical skills to others.
