The Scrum Master is a key role in our team, responsible for guiding and supporting our developers in building the next generation of customer engagement systems for federal service agencies.

As a servant leader, the Scrum Master will help the team self-organize, self-manage, and deliver by teaching and coaching effective Agile practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a facilitator for all team meetings, including daily stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Team Demos, and Retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with other impacted teams to ensure alignment between priorities, scope, and deployment-related activities.
  • Assist the team in preparation for Agile Release Train (ART) activities.
  • Help the team achieve quality, predictability, flow, and velocity by focusing on daily and Sprint Goals in the context of current PI Objectives.

This is a hybrid role, requiring the Scrum Master to be onsite in the Columbia, MD office 4 times per month.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with BS/BA; 3 years with a MS/MA; 1 year with PhD, experience in performing the role of Scrum Master.
  • 5+ years of experience performing as a Scrum Master utilizing SAFe methodologies or similar Agile servant leadership role.
  • 2+ years of experience with facilitating communication/collaboration with client and development team staff through in-person and virtual settings.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • SAFe Certified Scrum Master.
  • Prior experience in software development, preferably in a Java/open-source technical environment.
