Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Controls Engineer to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions using Siemens PLCs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop automation systems using Siemens PLCs from scratch
  • Program, troubleshoot, and commission automation systems
  • Develop technical documentation and specifications
  • Write Siemens PLC and HMI application software
  • Configure AC/DC drive equipment
  • Develop system test plan documents and perform system testing
  • Coordinate with project management, technical leads, and end customers to commission systems

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience in industrial automation
  • Aptitude in programming/configuring Siemens PLCs
  • Ability to program from scratch
  • Heavy industrial automation experience
  • Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in automation products, software, and complimentary areas
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and Visio
  • Communication skills both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in metals (steel) is strongly preferred
  • SIMATIC WINCC experience preferred (SCADA and HMI system from Siemens)
