Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Controls Engineer to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions using Siemens PLCs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop automation systems using Siemens PLCs from scratch
- Program, troubleshoot, and commission automation systems
- Develop technical documentation and specifications
- Write Siemens PLC and HMI application software
- Configure AC/DC drive equipment
- Develop system test plan documents and perform system testing
- Coordinate with project management, technical leads, and end customers to commission systems
Requirements:
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience in industrial automation
- Aptitude in programming/configuring Siemens PLCs
- Ability to program from scratch
- Heavy industrial automation experience
- Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in automation products, software, and complimentary areas
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and Visio
- Communication skills both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in metals (steel) is strongly preferred
- SIMATIC WINCC experience preferred (SCADA and HMI system from Siemens)
