Job Title: Controls Engineer

Wright Technical Services is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Controls Engineer, you will work on a variety of projects and be responsible for designing, programming, and testing control systems for industrial machinery across numerous industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new and customize existing PLC programs for discrete manufacturing processes.
  • Work in the control platforms of primarily Siemens Simatic S7.
  • Program and execute PLC controllers, specifically Siemens's TIA Portal package.
  • Interface PLC controllers/programs with AC and DC drives through industrial networks, mainly Ethernet/IP and Profinet.
  • Perform in-house systems tests.
  • Travel to customer sites for installation, debugging, and commissioning of complete automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems and errors in control systems both remotely and at the customer's site.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's in electrical engineering or relevant experience.
  • 5+ years' work experience in industrial controls.
  • Strong knowledge and experience programming PLCs (Siemens focused).
  • Demonstrated experience in hardware and software automation projects development.
  • Proficient in Siemens PLC programming & troubleshooting.
  • AC variable speed drives configuration and troubleshooting experience.
  • PLC communication protocols experience (Ethernet/IP preferred).
  • Ability to set up communication hardware and test designed solutions.
  • Siemens Simatic S7 development.
  • Willing to travel up to 25%.
  • Field experience working in a heavy industry environment.
  • Experience working for a controls system integrator preferred.
