Job Title: Automation Specialist

Job Description:

The Automation Specialist will assist the Engineering team in testing, troubleshooting, installing, and commissioning machines for our customers. Responsibilities include traveling to customer sites, troubleshooting primarily Allen-Bradley (and some Siemens) PLCs and drives, and installing and commissioning automation machinery in mills. There is no requirement to program from scratch, but training will be provided to enhance proficiency. The role primarily involves motors/drives experience (75%) and 25% PLC experience.

Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and repair automation machinery

Install and commission new automation systems

Collaborate with the Engineering team to test and improve automation processes

Requirements:

Familiarity with PLCs and motors/drives

Ability to read electrical schematics

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Work Environment:

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Willoughby, Ohio and some days remote. The role requires around 75% travel, potentially up to a month at a time, followed by a few weeks off. The largest concentration of customers is on the eastern end of the U.S., including locations like Pittsburgh, Indiana, Cleveland, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia, Mississippi, and Texas. The position is eligible for a per diem of $55/day. This role cannot be performed remotely and requires the employee to be in Cleveland when not traveling.
