Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant who will be instrumental in enhancing and implementing accounting processes and strategies that support our comprehensive accounting operations.

This position encompasses a wide range of accounting activities, including daily bookkeeping tasks, executing internal controls, drafting technical accounting policies, and overseeing financial reporting procedures while promoting automation in accounting processes.

The ideal candidate will be accountable for key monthly and quarterly closing responsibilities, ensuring effective communication of processes with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Staying organized and meeting critical accounting deadlines will be essential for success in this role.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhancing efficiencies and automation across essential accounting cycles such as payroll, procure-to-pay, and order-to-cash.
  • Monitoring and reconciling various project and vendor expenses.
  • Maintaining key accounting process tools and ensuring project management boards are current.
  • Keeping abreast of updates in accounting standards.
  • Assisting in the preparation and drafting of monthly and quarterly financial disclosures, ensuring thorough and organized tie-outs to supporting documentation.
  • Collaborating with compliance specialists and external auditors to facilitate efficient audit testing procedures.
  • Supporting quarterly audit compliance requirements, including tracking grant funds and cost-sharing.
  • Preparing quarterly disclosure checklists.
  • Managing employee travel and expense reimbursements.
  • Working collaboratively across the organization to support accounting activities.
  • Building strong relationships with government agencies and financial institutions.
  • Processing vendor payments.
  • Assisting in the planning, development, organization, implementation, and evaluation of the organization's accounting processes, including identifying and integrating new accounting tools.
  • Establishing credibility for the accounting function by adhering to the monthly close timeline and meeting key compliance requirements.
  • Participating in various special accounting research projects and effectively communicating findings to recommend appropriate accounting treatments.
  • Adhering to all regulations, policies, work procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
  • Facilitating the transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business.
  • Three to five years of general accounting experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Big 4 firms; CPA designation is a plus.
  • Master's degree in accountancy.
  • Experience in fast-growing startups or public companies.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite and QuickBooks.

Remote Work Preferences:

Candidates located in U.S. Pacific, Central, or Mountain Time zones are preferred.
