Key Responsibilities

Your Role Will Involve:
  • Developing and defining interior system requirements and specifications while coordinating geometry and engineering execution with design, supply chain, and other core teams.
  • Establishing vehicle-specific component and system targets for functionality, cost, weight, and investment.
  • Creating 3D models and innovative design concepts that address complex crash load scenarios while balancing construction, materials, and manufacturing methods.
  • Enhancing concepts and designs through analytical and physical evaluations, ensuring compliance with federal regulations governing assigned systems.
  • Delivering exceptional craftsmanship and fit/finish through the effective application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Researching and implementing novel construction techniques and materials, driving them toward production feasibility.
  • Facilitating effective communication with Studio, Packaging, Advanced Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supplier teams to achieve optimal design solutions.
  • Supporting presentations of concepts and progress to senior management and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Over 5 years of experience in designing, developing, and launching one or more interior subsystems and related components, including manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • At least 3 years of collaborative experience using 3D CAD software (e.g., NX, Catia, 3DX).
  • A minimum of 2 years in a team leadership role.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the production release process.
  • 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment launching a new product.
  • Experience in system-level management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T standards.
  • High proficiency with Catia, Enovia, or similar tools, including drawing and modeling practices.
  • Hands-on experience in building and launching automotive products.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and other information management tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent skills and expertise.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Confluence, Jira, or Asana.
  • A willingness to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment as part of a high-performing team.
  • A systematic approach to design and development, with a commitment to exceptional delivery and continuous improvement.
