Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Windows Systems Engineer to join our team at Calance. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, manage, and monitor Microsoft Server infrastructure
  • Ensure vulnerability management of the environment
  • Maintain overall system compliance with information security policies and procedures
  • Support annual security accreditation and maintain security levels throughout the year
  • Develop and implement configuration settings for all systems to meet security requirements
  • Serve as technical subject matter expert for the resolution of issues related to private or hosted infrastructure
  • Represent IT's interests and concerns on complex projects through the lifecycle of a project, and escalate concerns to management as necessary
  • Plan, schedule, and communicate system changes to other team members prior to implementation
  • Champion development and implementation of best practices, policies, and procedures for the IT Systems group
  • Manage risk in your day-to-day duties supporting the infrastructure
  • Maintain and develop documentation necessary to managing the infrastructure
  • Participate in on-call rotating schedule for after-hours support
  • Work with cross-functional teams to solve problems or deliver solutions
  • Mentor and train Jr. level engineers and administrators

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience supporting hardware and software related to data center infrastructure
  • 5+ years' experience administering Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure in virtual and physical environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft System Center Suite of products (SCCM/MCEM, SCOM etc.)
  • Proficiency in administering Active Directory preferably in a multi-domain and OU environment
  • Experience managing Microsoft Exchange Server or Office 365
  • Proficiency managing Group Policies to implement and enforce standards
  • Experience with PowerShell or other scripting language to aid in administration of duties
  • Ability to effectively develop, document, and communicate technical processes and standards
  • Ability to approach a challenge from multiple angles
  • Strict adherence to change control
  • Strict attention to detail

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting an environment with strict security standards
  • Experience with SSO or MS Federated services
  • Experience managing public or private cloud solutions
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to gather and analyze data to make informed decisions on the infrastructure

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.), technology trade school, or relevant training programs
  • 5 years related experience in tier 1 systems architecture, implementation, support, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certifications in any of the following: MCSA, MCSE, VMWare, ITIL, or other relevant technology engineering certifications
