JOB OVERVIEW:
- The Senior Embedded Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design and development of a cuffless blood pressure monitoring device. This position requires collaboration across various teams including hardware, algorithms, mobile applications, and cloud services to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards for FDA-regulated products.
- Engage with software team members in an agile setting to lead the firmware architecture and its implementation.
- Collaborate with the Software Architect and project management team to establish precise software project timelines.
- Offer architectural insights, assess new technologies, and define best practices.
- Work alongside other engineering disciplines such as mobile, cloud, electrical, and mechanical engineering.
- Assist the software development team in converting high-level software requirements into detailed specifications, supporting the documented software architecture.
- Participate in code and design evaluations to ensure adherence to the documented architecture.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in embedded software development within a regulated industry, preferably under IEC 62304 for medical device software.
- At least 4 years of experience in embedded C programming utilizing RTOS and bare-metal systems.
- Familiarity with MCU peripherals such as SPI, UART, I2C, ADC, DAC, timers, and DMA.
- Solid understanding of digital and analog electronics.
- Ability to review schematics and support hardware design efforts.
- Experience with board bring-up, bootloaders, firmware updates, and low-level drivers.
- Knowledge of low power design principles and battery management.
- Experience with external non-volatile storage solutions, e.g., NOR flash or EEPROM.
- Proficient in CI/CD tools and automated unit and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Understanding of fundamental multithreading, memory management, and data structures and algorithms concepts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Bachelor's degree in computer or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- May occasionally encounter loud sounds and distracting noise levels from office equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs.
- Frequent use of computers and technology.
