The Role:
We are at the forefront of developing the next generation of GEO/LEO satellite and 5G cellular connectivity solutions, aiming to deliver enhanced speeds and reduced latency for superior bandwidth and global coverage.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing software solutions that manage onboard aircraft networks and interface with satellite vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, modify, and implement sophisticated software network solutions based on functional and system design specifications.
- Code, integrate, test, debug, and refine software to create scalable and reliable network solutions.
- Develop software tools and subsystems to facilitate software development, testing, and reuse, while managing implementations that require extensive investigation.
- Enhance software to optimize operating time, improve efficiency, and provide telemetry data for enhanced operations.
- Review and analyze system designs and interfaces, preparing documentation including specifications and test plans.
- Assist in defining, analyzing, and allocating requirements, while documenting designs in engineering documents.
- Maintain developed software efficiently through a thorough understanding of software lifecycles.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to junior engineers and support personnel as needed.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Proven expertise in C/C++ programming languages.
- Experience with DevOps CI/CD pipelines and Gitlab.
- In-depth knowledge of multi-threaded embedded software development.
- Hands-on experience in Linux development, including bash scripting.
- Familiarity with socket programming, IPC, and PUB/SUB architecture.
- Understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/UDP/IP/HTTP/HTTPS/DHCP/DNS.
- Knowledge of Linux iptables, IP routing, VLAN, Ethernet switching, and Wi-Fi networks is advantageous.
- Ability to troubleshoot Ethernet and Wi-Fi network issues effectively.
- Capacity to resolve complex problems efficiently and work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in leading and providing technical guidance to other engineers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in embedded software development.
- Strong coding experience in C/C++ and development of networking solutions.
