We are seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to contribute to innovative projects at a leading medical device organization. This role involves close collaboration with the R&D team, software developers, and IT professionals to design and implement advanced embedded systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy new software solutions for both existing and new embedded platforms while assessing alternative software architectures.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive software requirements and design documentation.
- Conduct thorough reviews and unit testing of software components.
- Manage the software toolchain and software development environment.
- Streamline build and testing workflows through automation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with over 10 years of experience in embedded systems programming using C or C++ (or 8 years with a Master's degree in a related field).
- Proficient in real-time embedded software development.
- Experience in creating software for multi-threaded and/or multi-tasking systems.
- Skilled in hardware-software integration processes.
- Familiarity with software testing methodologies, static analysis, and debugging techniques at the hardware/software interface (e.g., ICE/JTAG).
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and methodologies, including UML.
- Experience with automation in testing processes.
- Strong documentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in medical devices or similar regulated sectors.
- Experience with commercial real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Knowledge of embedded programming in Windows and Linux environments.
- Expertise in setting up toolchains and build environments.
- Familiarity with networking protocols, including wireless technologies and Bluetooth.
- Experience in user interface development.
- Knowledge of laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Compensation:
- Hourly rate ranging from $62.27 to $83.03.
