Job Summary

Northstar Behavioral Health Network LLC is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician Driver to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport clients to and from appointments, intake pickups, and discharge drop-offs in a safe and timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle, adhering to company standards.
  • Inspect the vehicle daily and report any defects or damage to the supervisor.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs in a timely manner.
  • Check the transportation calendar daily and ensure all passengers are compliant, safe, and non-volatile.
  • Manage company gas cards and receipts, ensuring accurate records.
  • Ensure vehicles have a minimum of a half tank of gas by the end of each day.
  • Plan work tasks to coincide with programming requirements and set priorities accordingly.
  • Monitor clients, make house rounds, and document pertinent information.
  • Provide assistance to clients, including answering questions and completing tasks.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently with minimal direction.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of program philosophy, policies, and procedures, including 245G requirements and client rights and confidentiality.
  • Assist with intake/admission procedures, client orientation, and recreational activities.
  • Administer client medications and document accordingly.
  • Complete documentation of client information in the communications log and other forms.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Perform clerical tasks, including faxing, copying, and data entry.
  • Support staff and director in decision-making and maintain confidentiality.
  • Adhere to attendance and absence policies, reporting for work and shift change reports on time.
  • Participate in rotational and/or off-shift schedules, including holiday rotation schedules, as applicable.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Successfully complete a background study.
  • Knowledge of 245G and Minnesota Statutes, sections 245A.04, 245A.65, 626.556, and 626.557, and willingness to understand, learn, and carry out regulations with integrity.
  • Must understand and follow Northstar Behavioral Health Network LLC's Drug and Alcohol Policy.
  • Must be eighteen years old. CPR and 1st Aid certified or willing to participate in courses provided by Northstar Behavioral Health Network LLC.
  • Must have a valid MN driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet research.
  • Physical ability to perform the responsibilities of the position, including bending, stooping, sitting, walking, and lifting at least 30 pounds.
