Job Summary:

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is a team of professionals dedicated to serving individuals battling substance use disorders, specifically Opioid Use Disorder and Stimulant Use Disorder. We also specialize in providing Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) to those in need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer client medications and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date on house and client activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Transport clients to and from appointments, intake pickups, and discharge drop-offs, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Ensure all passengers in the vehicle are compliant, safe, and non-volatile.
  • Coordinate work tasks with programming requirements, setting priorities to meet client needs.
  • Monitor clients, make house rounds, and document pertinent information, completing other assignments as needed.
  • Work independently, relying on minimal direction, and maintain a high level of dependability.
  • Stay informed about program philosophy, policies, and procedures, as well as 245G requirements and house operations.
  • Assist counselors with intake/admission procedures, orientation of new clients, and co-workers.
  • Encourage clients to achieve their goals by serving as a positive role model and participating in client recreational activities.
  • Provide resources for clients, sharing knowledge of services and opportunities in the community.
  • Document client information in the communications log and complete other forms as required.
  • Objectively document client-related topics in client files and communication logs.
  • Exhibit diplomacy and sensitivity toward staff and client feelings, needs, values, and opinions.
  • Complete clerical assignments, such as faxing, copying programming materials, and updating Excel spreadsheets.
  • Assist with food preparation and household cleaning duties as needed.
  • Adhere to attendance and absence policies, reporting for work and shift change reports in a timely manner.
  • Participate in rotational and/or off-shift schedules, including a holiday rotation schedule, as applicable.
  • Able to work additional hours/off-shift as needed.
Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or attainment within 30 days of employment.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Knowledge of all MN Statutes related to providing services for the population NBHN serves, and willingness to learn, understand, and carry out regulations with integrity.
  • Understand and follow NBH's Drug and Alcohol Policy.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge in MS Office and Google Suite programs.
