Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician Driver to join our team at Northstar Behavioral Health Network. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of our clients to and from appointments, as well as maintaining a clean and well-maintained vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport clients to and from appointments, intake pickups, discharge drop-offs, and other scheduled events
  • Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle, including daily inspections and reporting of any defects or damage
  • Ensure all passengers in the vehicle are compliant, safe, and non-volatile
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs in a timely manner
  • Check the transportation calendar daily and plan work tasks accordingly
  • Assist with client intake and admission procedures, as well as orientation of new clients and staff
  • Encourage clients to achieve their goals by functioning as a positive role model
  • Participate in client recreational activities and serve as a resource for clients through knowledge of community services and opportunities
  • Administer client medications and document accordingly
  • Document client information in the communications log and complete other forms as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Successfully complete a background study
  • Knowledge of 245G and Minnesota Statutes, sections 245A.04, 245A.65, and willingness to understand, learn, and carry out regulations with integrity
  • CPR and 1st Aid certification or willingness to participate in courses provided by Northstar Behavioral Health Network
  • Valid MN driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet research
  • Physical ability to perform the responsibilities of the position, including bending, stooping, sitting, walking, and lifting at least 30 pounds
