Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Childcare Assistant to join our team at the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. The successful candidate will provide direct care to infant-to-preschool aged children and assist at a center-based child care facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide supervised direct care to children, implementing age-appropriate activities and exercises.
  • Assist in implementing a preschool-aged child care program, including parenting education for parents.
  • Work with children, parents, and staff to create a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Equivalent of a high school diploma or proof of enrollment in High School.
  • Preferred applicants have experience working with students in a classroom or equivalent environment.
  • Successful completion of minimum childcare licensing standards.
Working Conditions

This is a non-exempt position that requires working indoors in an office and/or classroom environment. The ability to lift, carry, push, and move supplies, furniture, etc., of light-to-medium weight (under 50 pounds) on an intermittent basis is required.

Pursuant to Tribal Policy, this position is subject to pre-employment drug testing and reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing. Tribal Member and Indian Preference will apply, and preference will also be given to honorably discharged veterans who are minimally qualified.
