Position Summary

The Lead Audit Strategist will play a crucial role in managing and executing internal audits, with a particular emphasis on commercial banking operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Overseeing internal audits, risk assessments, and compliance evaluations to ensure robust governance and control frameworks.
  • Delivering independent assessments of the organization’s internal control systems, while collaborating with management to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Drafting comprehensive reports and presenting findings to senior leadership, the board, and regulatory bodies.
  • Contributing to the formulation of the annual audit strategy and ensuring its successful implementation, while identifying opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, risks, and regulatory changes impacting the financial services landscape.
  • Participating in special initiatives as needed to support the organization's objectives.
Candidate Profile

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Internal Audit, with a focus on treasury, finance, and liquidity risk.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CFSA, CFE) are advantageous.
  • A solid understanding of internal controls, risk management principles, and banking operations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • A strategic mindset with an emphasis on risk awareness and sound judgment.
  • The capability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing remote and in-office responsibilities.
