Lead Financial Strategist, Financial Planning & Analysis

MongoDB is on the lookout for a Lead Financial Strategist in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to expand our GTM FP&A team. In this role, you will oversee financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and the analysis of critical business decisions, go-to-market strategies, resource allocation, and sales compensation. The Lead Strategist is expected to play a pivotal role in MongoDB's success by enabling executives and team leaders to make informed decisions, collaborating closely with them to assess, plan, execute, and evaluate strategic business initiatives.

This position calls for a proactive self-starter who can communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization, manage tasks from inception to completion, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role will adopt a hybrid model, and we seek candidates who can be present in our New York City office approximately two days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Forecasting: Support and coordinate updates to our company forecast model, encompassing detailed bookings, revenue, and commissions forecasts.
  • Business Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales Operations and Commissions teams to develop and assess our annual sales compensation plans.
  • Performance Evaluation: Provide regular insights into sales productivity and commissions across each sales segment.
  • Analytical Support: Conduct ad-hoc analyses and develop financial models to guide leadership towards effective operational strategies, resource allocation, and investments in growth initiatives.
  • Reporting: Assist in the preparation of Board materials and executive updates; maintain monthly and quarterly reporting.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, business, or economics preferred; MBA is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in FP&A, along with superior analytical, critical thinking, and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, Google Suite, and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial planning tools and SQL is advantageous.
  • Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and formulate actionable recommendations.
  • Confidence in building strong relationships with business partners at all organizational levels; experience with sales organizations is preferred, and commissions experience is a plus.
  • Results-driven with a sense of urgency and the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
