Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Director to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Seattle. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for directing the maintenance and improvement operations of our branch properties, facilities, and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement maintenance and improvement plans for assigned facilities, including preventative maintenance programs and annual budgets.
  • Supervise and train maintenance staff, including hiring, evaluating, and mentoring.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on maintenance and custodial issues, and advise branch leadership on related matters.
  • Oversee the work of contracted facility professionals and ensure compliance with Association policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing and managing the branch facility budget, and monitor expenditures against budget.
  • Ensure that all vehicles are maintained and operated in accordance with Association policies and procedures.
  • Report maintenance-related concerns to the appropriate staff member, and may be required to carry a pager and cell phone 24/7 for emergencies.
  • Submit timely reports, including Net Facilities, as required.
  • Assist with the annual fundraising campaign, and update facility plans annually.
Requirements
  • Five or more years of experience in facility management or a closely related field.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, carpentry, property management, and other maintenance-related areas.
  • Boiler, HVAC systems, CPO, CPR, and first aid certifications required within the first year of employment.
  • Ability and license to drive a company vehicle.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and standard programs.
  • Proven experience in staff supervision and budget management.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to drive in a safe and effective manner, with proof of adequate vehicle insurance coverage.
