Housing Services Coordinator

The Housing Operations Coordinator is a pivotal role reporting to the Director of Housing, tasked with overseeing administrative functions within the BC Residence Hall. This includes the orchestration of services from Campus Operations, the execution of the BC Housing Management system, and the supervision of the Housing front desk, alongside various responsibilities that facilitate the seamless daily operations of Housing. The position is primarily on-site, with limited remote work options to be arranged with the Director of Housing or their designee.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary Range: $51,576 - $69,312 annually
The salary indicated serves as a general guideline. Actual compensation will be influenced by the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, and market conditions. New hires in Classified positions will be placed within a salary range as per the WPEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Department OverviewThe Housing department at Bellevue College was established in Fall 2018 with the opening of the first on-campus residence hall. Our mission is to provide safe, inclusive, and educationally-driven living environments for students through quality facilities and supportive services. The residence hall is LEED-Platinum certified and offers 400 bed spaces in suite and apartment-style living, along with community spaces for studying and socializing.
The Housing team consists of the Director, Assistant Director, and student staff, including Resident Assistants and desk staff, all working collaboratively to enhance the student experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesFacilities and Operations
- Manage student maintenance requests via the Bellevue College Work Order system.
- Enhance the process for students to submit maintenance requests.
- Collaborate with the Director of Housing on facilities management projects.
- Oversee the administration and distribution of Housing keys.
- Participate in training for the Housing key management system.
- Coordinate mail handling processes with the Bellevue College Warehouse.
- Maintain communication with Campus Operations, Public Safety, and Finance offices.
- Schedule and publicize Health and Safety Inspections in the Residence Hall.
- Research and propose improvements for Housing operations.
Housing Support
- Engage in departmental meetings and events.
- Provide operational updates to the Director of Housing.
- Co-manage the Housing Management System, including student data tracking.
- Support the Director in managing Housing service contracts.
- Ensure secure storage of departmental data.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Management of Student Staff
- Assign tasks to student employees and monitor progress.
- Share supervision responsibilities for student desk staff.
- Fulfill other assigned duties as necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate's degree or two years of relevant administrative experience.
- Proven ability to manage departmental resources effectively.
- Experience working collaboratively with diverse groups.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Knowledge of compliance with ADA, Title IX, and related regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education settings.
- Familiarity with community/technical colleges.
- Background in housing programs or student engagement.
- Ability to supervise and develop a cohesive team.
- Experience in hiring and training student employees.
- Conflict resolution skills among students and staff.
