Job Summary

The Student Awards Specialist is a key member of the Corporate Student Financial Services Department at IEC CORP GROUP. This role is responsible for reviewing student files, evaluating financial aid applications, and performing verification to determine eligibility for Title IV funding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with all Federal, State, and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Understand and interpret Title IV regulations.
  • Review all student financial aid files for completeness, accuracy, and ensure verification requirements are met.
  • Post related award data into student operating systems to ensure timely and accurate cash flow forecasts.
  • Prepare file reconciliations to ensure proper management and posting of scheduled Title IV funding.
  • Calculate award eligibility and certify federal and private student loans.
  • Maintain knowledge of Title IV awarding and disbursing regulations.
  • Maintain and coordinate awarding and student file reports.
  • Maintain the company's administrative requirements for student financial aid and separation of duties compliance requirements for state and federal student financial aid.
  • Maintain knowledge of the College's awarding and refund policies.
  • Ensure ethical and accurate documentation and recordkeeping which meets all company and regulatory agency standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Participate as an active team member of the Corporate Student Financial Services Department and ensure active communication and cohesive working relationship with all other departments.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in a financial aid department of an accredited college or university with direct responsibility for processing Title IV activities, programs, and funding preferred.
  • Associate's degree or comparable work experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in math, business, finance, auditing, or accounting preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and execute multiple priorities.
