Position Overview:

The Financial Controller is tasked with managing all fiscal and accounting operations within the organization, particularly in the food production sector. This role encompasses the oversight of financial reporting, budgeting, cost management, and adherence to regulatory standards. The Financial Controller will deliver strategic financial insights to facilitate the company's growth ambitions and enhance operational effectiveness.

Core Responsibilities:


• Financial Reporting & Analysis:


• Supervise the creation of financial documents, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.


• Evaluate financial data and offer insights to senior leadership for informed decision-making.


• Guarantee precise and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.


• Budgeting & Forecasting:


• Formulate and oversee the yearly budget, including forecasting and variance analysis.


• Collaborate closely with department leaders to ensure alignment with financial objectives.


• Cost Management:


• Direct the cost management function, ensuring accurate product costing and inventory assessment.


• Assess production expenses and pinpoint opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements.


• Compliance & Risk Oversight:


• Ensure adherence to all financial regulations, including GAAP and industry-specific requirements.


• Manage internal controls and audit procedures to minimize financial risks.


• Team Leadership:


• Guide and mentor the accounting team, providing support and growth opportunities.


• Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the finance division.


• Strategic Financial Planning:


• Partner with the CFO and executive team to devise and implement financial strategies that align with the company's long-term objectives.


• Offer financial insights to aid in business expansion, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic endeavors.

Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.


• A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity within the food production sector.


• Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and cost management principles, particularly in a manufacturing context.


• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and advanced Excel capabilities.


• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.


• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills:


• Experience in inventory management and supply chain finance.


• Familiarity with food industry regulations and compliance obligations.


• Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and their financial implications.

Working Environment:


• Office setting within a manufacturing facility.


• Occasional travel may be necessary for company-related activities or industry events.
