About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Grants and Contracts Officer II to join our team at the College of Arts and Sciences at Georgia State University. As a key member of our faculty development team, you will play a critical role in supporting the post-award administration of sponsored research projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist principal investigators and administrative staff with maintaining project records, including notices of awards, advance account notices, and sub-contract documentation.
  • Interpret federal, state, and private sponsor guidelines and regulations for spending on sponsored awards.
  • Determine allowable and unallowable expenses on awards and ensure fiscal compliance on all awards in your portfolio.
  • Collaborate with other college administrative staff to track faculty buy-outs and ensure that effort commitments are met on sponsored awards.
  • Perform pre-review of effort forms for your portfolio three times a year.
  • Initiate post-award actions on sponsored projects, including no-cost extension requests, award set up, award closeouts, residual transfers, and other administrative changes and updates to awards.
  • Work with OPSA on the submission and completion of these actions.
  • Initiate sub-award requests on sponsored awards and assist PIs with sub-recipient monitoring.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience or a combination of education and related experience.
  • Training and experience with federal grants in a university setting, background in accounting, and Certified Research Administrator certification preferred.
