POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial Grants Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing grant revenues and expenditures, implementing revenue controls, and ensuring the promptness and accuracy of grant reimbursement requests and financial reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide financial oversight, grant compliance, and project management support for programs funded by various foundations, federal, state, and local sources.
  • Conduct monthly invoicing, reconciliations, and reporting related to grants as necessary.
  • Generate accurate and timely financial reports for funders as required.
  • Prepare and analyze financial records pertaining to grants for internal management use.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of grant invoicing and status updates.
  • Perform monthly bank account reconciliations and adhere to period-end close-out procedures (monthly, quarterly, annually).
  • Assist with annual audits as well as grant/project audits.
  • Review and summarize pertinent information from grant contracts.
  • Assess and recommend enhancements to accounting system procedures to ensure the accurate application of accounting principles.
  • Provide training on HUD Exchange.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial analysis and budgeting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and budgeting principles and GAAP practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Experience working within a non-profit organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience with NetSuite.
  • Familiarity with Yardi systems.
