TransitAmerica Services, Inc. is on the lookout for a dedicated Supply Chain Operations Manager to enhance our team.

Compensation: The salary range for this role is between $98,000 and $109,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the distribution and supply of materials across various operations within a passenger rail service initiative.
  • Collaborate with operational departments to ensure all material flow aligns with production schedules and requirements.
  • Engage with departments to plan and forecast repairs, major projects, and other material-related issues.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory levels in accordance with operational needs and inventory cycles.
  • Conduct regular inventory assessments to address and resolve discrepancies.
  • Design and implement effective inventory control procedures.
  • Establish and promote best practices for inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential suppliers to meet quality and delivery standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and inventory management protocols.
  • Oversee the accuracy of inventory counts by managing a robust inventory control system in collaboration with Finance.
  • Work with management to prepare the materials budget, review work orders, and analyze variances.
  • Foster a safe work environment by adhering to local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Manage receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by enforcing relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all warehousing and shipping regulations.
  • Implement security measures to protect warehouse operations and contents.
  • Plan and oversee the physical condition of warehouses, including layout design and equipment maintenance.
  • Lead and inspire a team to create a collaborative and empowering workplace.
  • Recruit, train, and develop personnel to maintain optimal staffing levels.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Coordinate with the Procurement team to expedite purchase orders and ensure timely material sourcing.
  • Address quality and engineering changes in collaboration with operating departments and suppliers.
  • Monitor stocking levels to ensure minimum thresholds are maintained.
  • Review purchase orders and invoices to ensure proper documentation and flow of materials.
  • Ensure procurement of goods and services aligns with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Engage in promoting the company culture and essential behaviors.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in business or supply chain management is preferred.
  • Experience in the railroad industry, particularly in procurement and sourcing within a maintenance context.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Experience managing in a unionized environment is advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of experience in warehouse or inventory management.
  • Strong communication, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
  • Proficient in analyzing financial and technical data.
  • Advanced knowledge of warehouse equipment operations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Successful completion of background checks and motor vehicle report reviews.
  • Pre-employment physical and drug screening due to the safety-sensitive nature of the role.
  • Compliance with safety certification and testing requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular use of a computer and office equipment.
  • Ability to perform light work, occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Capable of walking on uneven surfaces and ascending/descending ladders.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Must pass vision and hearing examinations as required.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and around heavy machinery.
