Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Corporate Counsel, Data Protection Specialist to join our legal team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in helping us navigate the complex landscape of data protection regulations and ensure that our business practices are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Protection Compliance: Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures that align with our business objectives and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including the GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
  • Privacy Leadership: Provide expert guidance and support to our business teams on data protection matters, including data mapping, data flows tracking, and compliant usage of online tracking technologies.
  • Agreement Negotiation: Negotiate and draft data processing agreements (DPAs), business associate agreements (BAAs), and other similar agreements with customers, partners, and vendors to support our compliance obligations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Drive and contribute to cross-functional and organization-wide privacy and security initiatives, including privacy and security certification audits, compliance audits, and process reviews.
Requirements
  • JD or Equivalent: J.D. or equivalent degree with strong academic credentials.
  • Bar Membership: Member of a state bar or eligible to register as Registered In-House Counsel.
  • Experience: 3+ total years of relevant experience in a law firm, government agency, or in-house, with 1+ years experience in-house preferred.
  • Privacy Expertise: Deep understanding of privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, and ability to apply them to real-world situations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills with significant attention to detail.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is $132,000 - $155,000 USD per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k) matching, and generous time off.
