Job Summary

Laramie County Community College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to join our Health Sciences and Wellness team. As a part-time, non-benefited position, this role will be responsible for instruction, development, and delivery of curriculum in the associated program(s). The successful candidate will work closely with directors and other faculty to build a robust curriculum for our students.

Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes as per course plan and schedule, primarily evening and weekends, and meet required contact hours.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum that is current, effective, and appropriate to course and program competencies.
  • Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages student success.
  • Utilize varied learning activities to maximize student engagement and success.
  • Employ relevant teaching tools, strategies, and classroom technologies.
  • Prepare and maintain classroom and/or lab facilities.
  • Support student learning with timely and on-going feedback on progress and provide assistance towards meeting the course competencies.
  • Comply with College procedures, practices, and deadlines related to instructional delivery, formative and summative assessment, and reporting requirements.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in an academic field associated with the program or alternate qualifications may be accepted based on individual program requirements.
  • Content specific knowledge in the form of master level or higher coursework, peer-reviewed research or publications, industry certifications, or tested work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in academic field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • One year of experience with web-based learning management systems.
  • Two or more years of college-level teaching experience.
  • Two or more years of work experience in the healthcare field.
