Job Summary:
Laramie County Community College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Spanish courses. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
Responsibilities:
- Teach assigned Spanish courses, primarily evening and weekends, and meet required contact hours.
- Develop and maintain curriculum that is current, effective, and appropriate to course and program competencies.
- Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages student success.
- Utilize varied learning activities to maximize student engagement and success.
- Employ relevant teaching tools, strategies, and classroom technologies.
- Prepare and maintain classroom and/or lab facilities.
- Support student learning with timely and on-going feedback on progress and provide assistance towards meeting the course competencies.
- Comply with College procedures, practices, and deadlines related to instructional delivery, formative and summative assessment, and reporting requirements.
- Communicate with students, colleagues, and supervisors in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Spanish or Master in any field with 18 credits in Spanish.
- Doctoral degree in academic field from a regionally accredited institution (preferred).
- One year of experience with web-based learning management systems (preferred).
- Two or more years of college-level teaching experience (preferred).
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, colleagues, and supervisors in a professional and courteous manner. The ability to comply with highly inflexible deadlines and work variable schedules, including long workdays, evenings, and weekends, is required.
