Nursing Attendant-Centralized Nursing Service-Evening Shift

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Attendant to join our Centralized Nursing Service team in an Evening Shift position. As a Nursing Attendant, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care to assigned patients under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with Admission/Transfer/Discharge of patients, ensuring a smooth transition and providing necessary support.
- Conduct patient rounds to ensure toileting, positioning, comfort, safety, and personal needs are met.
- Prepare patients for meals, including clearing overbed tables and positioning patients correctly for eating/tube feedings.
- Perform and/or assist patients with simple treatments, such as removing and reapplying SCD wraps as directed by the RN.
- Collect specimens as directed by the RN and inform them of any audible clinical alarms.
- Assist with moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Change linen in accordance with policy and as necessary, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Take and electronically record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, pulse oximetry, and respiration, and report abnormalities to the RN.
- Measure and record oral intake, urinary output, bowel elimination, gastric, and other drainage onto the I&O record, calculating 8-hour totals as needed.
- Perform post-mortem care and safety observations for patients on continuous observation or in restraints, per policy and as directed.
- Respond to and meet patient/family needs and customer concerns with compassion and understanding, establishing effective relationships with staff, patients, family, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain competence through in-service and educational programs, attending staff meetings and reviewing/signing minutes of meetings not attended.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or minimum 6 months relevant experience.
- BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required upon entry to the position.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with working knowledge of English evident in verbal, reading, and writing abilities.
