Nursing Attendant-Centralized Nursing Service-Evening Shift

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Attendant to join our Centralized Nursing Service team in an Evening Shift position. As a Nursing Attendant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the implementation of the nursing process by performing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Maintain a safe and orderly patient care environment and unit.
- Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, including orienting patients to the hospital environment, providing toileting supplies, and assisting with the transfer of patients.
- Prepare patients for meals, including clearing overbed tables and positioning patients correctly for eating and tube feedings.
- Perform and/or assist patients with simple treatments, such as removing and reapplying SCD wraps as directed by the RN.
- Collect specimens as directed by the RN and inform the RN of any audible clinical alarms.
- Assist with moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients, as well as removing and securing patient personal items prior to procedures.
- Change linen in accordance with policy and as necessary.
- Take and electronically record blood pressure, temperature, pulse, pulse oximetry, and respiration per care level standard and as directed by the RN.
- Weigh patients and electronically record on admission, as ordered, and/or as directed by the RN.
- Measure and record oral intake, urinary output, bowel elimination, gastric, and other drainage onto I&O record (form or electronic).
- Perform post-mortem care and safety observations for patients on continuous observation or in restraints, per policy and as directed.
- Report any changes observed in the patient's condition to the RN.
- Respond to and meet patient/family needs and customer concerns as soon as possible with compassion and understanding.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or minimum 6 months relevant experience.
- BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required upon entry to the position.
- Working knowledge of English evident in verbal, reading, and writing abilities; other language an asset.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
