Responsibilities
  • Assist in sampling and data collection for various marine fisheries projects
  • Enter and manage data using electronic tablets and software
  • Perform laboratory work, including fish processing and aging
  • Conduct fieldwork, including deploying and hauling fishing gear
  • Interact with the public at outreach events and provide information on marine fisheries regulations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Experience in marine biology, fisheries, or a related field
  • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data entry and management software
  • Knowledge of marine fish and invertebrate identification
  • Experience with fishing and boating
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions

Incumbents in this class must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift and move 50 pounds. The position requires frequent travel to marine sites and may involve working in inclement weather.
