As a key member of our team, you will assist in various projects, including sampling, data entry, and laboratory work. Responsibilities- Assist in sampling and data collection for various marine fisheries projects
- Enter and manage data using electronic tablets and software
- Perform laboratory work, including fish processing and aging
- Conduct fieldwork, including deploying and hauling fishing gear
- Interact with the public at outreach events and provide information on marine fisheries regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Experience in marine biology, fisheries, or a related field
- Ability to lift and move 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with data entry and management software
- Knowledge of marine fish and invertebrate identification
- Experience with fishing and boating
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Incumbents in this class must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift and move 50 pounds. The position requires frequent travel to marine sites and may involve working in inclement weather.
