Job Summary

Simonton Windows & Doors is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to ensure compliance with environmental health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement EHS Policies and Programs: Create and implement policies and programs to ensure compliance with local, regional, and federal EHS regulations.
  • Lead EHS Initiatives: Lead location/area managers and teams to communicate, promote, and practice safe operating practices/procedures.
  • Investigate Incidents: Develop and implement procedures for local compliance with corporate incident reporting and investigation programs.
  • Provide EHS Training: Develop and implement procedures for local compliance with corporate incident reporting and investigation programs.
  • Conduct Site Inspections: Conduct site inspections to detect existing or potential EHS hazards and determine corrective actions.
  • Maintain EHS Compliance Calendar: Maintain and execute an EHS compliance calendar for all required regulatory and policy activities.
  • Lead EHS Committees: Lead, support, and serve in a management leadership capacity on EHS-related committees.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure mandatory regulatory event reporting is completed, including annual OSHA 300 log, notification of serious accidents, hospitalization, or death.
  • Lead Emergency Response: Lead local system procedures, equipment specifications, training, and secure volunteers for emergency response and performance.
  • Perform EHS Metrics: Perform and maintain local and corporate assigned performance metrics, developing corrective action plans in collaboration with site management.
  • Communicate EHS Data: Analyze and communicate EHS data trends, compliance performance, and permitting activity.
  • Perform EHS Audits: Perform EHS policy and regulation required annual reviews and audits of assigned locations and develop corrective action plans.
  • Implement Environmental Compliance Programs: Plan and implement environmental compliance programs, prepare/submit permits/reports for compliance with laws/regulations.
  • Manage Environmental Analytical Testing: Ensure required systems are in place for environmental analytical testing and record-keeping requirements.
  • Manage Sustainability: Manage, evaluate, and promote applicable sustainability actions according to company or location requirements.
  • Implement Hazardous Chemical Monitoring Programs: Implement and maintain according to corporate policy and local regulations, a hazardous chemical (industrial hygiene) monitoring program.
  • Review Capital Projects: Serve as local EHS representative for capital projects to review for EHS uncontrolled hazards, impacts, and permitting requirements.
  • Develop EHS Procedures: Develop local procedures, training, and leadership to ensure appropriate usage of company corporate EHS management database systems.
  • Monitor EHS Corrective Actions: Monitor and report to location and/or functional area leadership on the status and effectiveness of EHS-related corrective and preventive actions.
Requirements
  • Occasional Domestic US Travel: Occasional domestic US travel (2-3 trips per year) is expected for this position.
  • Work Environment: Majority of work will be performed in typical office, warehouse, and manufacturing plant environments. Occasional work in laboratory and manufacturing operations environments.
